Best Buy restocks Pokémon
while you're asleep.

Swooper's monitors watched Best Buy's Pokémon inventory for 18 days and recorded 16 restock detections. Not one landed during normal shopping hours. Here's every number, and what it means for when you should be watching.

Every detection, by hour of day.

Eastern time. The empty daytime columns are the finding — if you check Best Buy on your lunch break, the wave you're looking for happened hours earlier.

Hour of day (ET) · 16 detections · red = the overnight window (10PM–6AM)

Why overnight A restock here is Best Buy's site flipping an item from out-of-stock to purchasable. Those flips come from inventory syncs on a backend schedule — not trucks arriving, not store hours — which is why the counts pile up before dawn.

Methodology

How this was measured.

  • Source. Swooper's monitoring stack — our Best Buy monitor's real-time alert feed, logging a detection the moment an item becomes purchasable (including preorder slots reopening, which Best Buy uses heavily). Only confirmed restock events are counted; status changes and new-listing discoveries are excluded.
  • Window. August 24, 2026 – September 10, 2026 (18-day monitoring window).
  • Sample. 16 Pokémon restock detections across 15 tracked Pokémon products, 15 of which restocked at least once.
  • Timezone. All times converted to US Eastern.
  • What it is not. This measures online inventory flips at bestbuy.com for the Pokémon products Swooper tracks — not in-store stocking, and not the entire catalogue.

Numbers refresh as the monitors keep running. Using this in a video or article? Please cite swooperhq.com/restock-data/best-buy — free to reference with attribution.

Swooper, the drop-hunting mascot

You can't set an alarm for 1AM every night.

Swooper watches every tracked product around the clock and checks out for you the second one flips — while you're asleep.
